Terms of service
Terms of service for iBall.
Last updated: June 2025
1. Acceptance
By creating an iBall account or using any part of the iBall service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept, do not use iBall.
2. Eligibility
You must be 16 or older to register. Players under 18 acknowledge they participate in physical activity at their own risk and must have a parent or guardian aware of their bookings.
3. Bookings, splits and TTLs
A booking is "pending payment" once created. A 20-minute TTL timer begins; invited players must pay their split within that window. If 100% of the required splits are paid before the TTL expires, the booking is confirmed. Otherwise, the booking is cancelled and all payment holds are released.
4. Public matches (Street Game)
Public matches require an 80% fill threshold by the lockout time (typically 2 hours before kickoff). If the threshold is not met by lockout, the match is auto-cancelled and all holds are released. Substitute slots may be claimed by waitlisted players if a primary cancels.
5. Escrow and Paystack
All payments are pre-authorised holds on the player's chosen payment method, processed by Paystack. Funds only move when a match locks in. The pitch rate routes to the turf owner's Paystack subaccount; the 1.5% per-player service fee (capped at ₦2,500) routes to iBall; marshal fees route to the marshal's account on score lock.
6. Refunds
If a booking or match is cancelled before lock-in, all holds are released with zero charge. If a confirmed match is cancelled by the turf owner, all paid players are refunded in full within 24 hours.
7. No-shows
A player who fails to check in within 10 minutes of kickoff is marked absent and their split is not refunded. This is the platform's anti-no-show mechanism.
8. Match results and disputes
The marshal's final score is sent to both captains for approval within a 30-minute review window. If both approve, the score is locked. If one disputes, an iBall admin reviews within 2 hours. If neither captain responds within the window, the marshal's score is auto-locked.
9. Marshal conduct
Certified marshals must arrive on time, run the timer impartially, and lock accurate scores. Repeated complaints, falsified scores or no-shows lead to suspension or revocation of certification.
10. Turf owner conduct
Owners must honour confirmed bookings, maintain pitch quality as advertised, and respect the listed kickoff time. Cancellations by the owner trigger full player refunds and may result in temporary delisting.
11. Acceptable use
You must not: use iBall for any illegal purpose; harass, threaten or discriminate against other users; create fake accounts; manipulate ELO; or attempt to bypass payment controls.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate any account for violation of these terms, fraud, or repeated disputes. You may close your account at any time from settings.
13. Liability
iBall provides software coordination. Physical injuries, property loss and on-pitch conduct are the responsibility of players and turf owners. iBall's aggregate liability is limited to fees you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Lagos State.
